The Avengers movie will be released in 2012, and it’s a promising success. Marvel’s been making movies out of his comics, and they are mostly turning out great. I myself really enjoyed the Hulk, Iron Man and Thor, but Captain America was a bit of a let down. But then maybe I don’t really like the character itself. Next year they’ll release The Avengers featuring all these characters, so we can hope that it’ll be a smashing success, or at least the trailer they released recently is pretty awesome.
But the really incredible thing is this: the cinematographer Seamus McGarvey said that the movie, and even the trailer itself has scenes in it that were shot with an iPhone 4 – which we know offers HD recording option. He said quote: “The beauty of photography or cinema is that you make every choice based on the content at hand. On The Avengers, I did a couple of shots on the iPhone and they are in the movie. In fact, they are in the trailer! I understand that sometimes there is no choice and you have to go for the cheapest option, but if you are limited for choice, you can still make poignant decisions that will effect the look of the film…”
I guess this is not that a big surprise, iPhones have such a great video recording quality that this was coming. I have friends that travel the world with their trusty 64 GB iPod and making beautiful shots everywhere. And after this with the help of iMovie they are able to cut and basically direct a good looking short movie of the places they’ve been. And it’s not looking that like the work of an amateur. Technology gives us access to more and more areas, and sites like Youtube make it available for the public.
